What this tool does
marked parses the Markdown with GFM and line breaks enabled, then a local allowlist sanitizer filters the output. Preview and copied HTML use that sanitized result; images, form controls and unsupported elements are removed.
How to use Markdown to HTML
- Paste Markdown. Enter headings, text, lists, links, code or tables. Images and unsupported active elements will be removed from the output.
- Inspect the result. Switch between Preview and HTML. The preview uses this page’s styles, not your destination website’s styles.
- Copy and verify. Copy the sanitized HTML and check it in the intended pipeline, including layout and accessibility.
How this tool works
marked converts Markdown syntax to HTML, then sanitizeHtml removes unsafe elements and attributes before preview rendering.
- Engine: marked parser plus the site's HTML sanitizer
- Supported input: CommonMark-style Markdown supported by marked
- Output: HTML source, sanitized browser preview
Worked example
Input: # Hello
**Private** draft
Output: <h1>Hello</h1> followed by a paragraph containing <strong>Private</strong>
Limits, edge cases, and troubleshooting
Use it for documentation and publishing drafts. Inspect the copied HTML in the destination system because its CSS and Markdown extensions may differ.
- The document must fit in browser memory.
- The preview removes scripts, event handlers, dangerous URLs, and unsupported markup; themes and extensions can render differently elsewhere.
When to use another workflow
Use the target static-site generator or Markdown pipeline when plugins, frontmatter, syntax highlighting, or exact production parity is required.

Frequently asked questions
Which Markdown features are usable?
marked parses common Markdown including headings, emphasis, lists, links, code and tables. The local sanitizer removes active/unsupported elements, including images and form controls, before rendering.
Does the preview exactly match my site?
No. Your site can use different plugins, CSS and sanitization. Check generated HTML in the target pipeline; do not assume full GitHub rendering parity.
Is information sent to a server?
