What this tool does

Generate a sitemap XML document from URLs you enter. Nonblank rows become url elements in the sitemap namespace. The tool XML-escapes each URL and includes its entered last-modified date, change frequency and priority. It does not fetch or crawl those URLs.

How to use Sitemap Generator

  1. Prepare the input. Add the canonical URLs and any accurate modification dates.
  2. Run or configure the tool. Review optional row values and the XML output.
  3. Check and use the output. Copy/download the sitemap, validate it and publish it at the intended site.

Limits, assumptions and interpretation

Supply absolute canonical URLs that actually return an eligible page. The tool does not verify HTTP status, robots, duplicates or ownership.

  • Use a last-modified date only for a real content change, not simply the build date.
  • A sitemap is a discovery hint; it does not guarantee indexing or ranking.
  • Validate the complete XML and the search engine’s applicable limits before submitting.
