JSON to XML Converter

Map a JSON value to one explicit XML representation.

What this tool does

Map a JSON value to one explicit XML representation. JSON objects become nested named elements, primitives become escaped text, arrays use repeated child names derived by removing a trailing s, and null uses xsi:nil. The chosen root and all keys must be supported XML element names; nesting beyond 100 levels is rejected.

How to use JSON to XML Converter

  1. Prepare the input. Paste valid JSON and choose a valid root name.
  2. Run or configure the tool. Select Convert.
  3. Check and use the output. Validate the output against the destination XML schema and expected array/null representation.

How this tool works

JSON objects become nested named elements, primitives become escaped text, arrays use repeated child names derived by removing a trailing s, and null uses xsi:nil. The chosen root and all keys must be supported XML element names; nesting beyond 100 levels is rejected.

Worked example

Input: {"name":"QA"}; root name root

Output: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <root> <name>QA</name> </root>

Limits, assumptions and interpretation

There is no universal JSON-to-XML mapping; this convention may not match your API’s schema.

  • Keys containing spaces, colons or unsupported element-name characters are rejected.
  • Empty arrays use a placeholder child in the current convention; object types and JSON number precision need checking.
  • No XSD/schema validation or round-trip preservation guarantee is provided.
