Browser Tools FAQ — OpusDesk Hub Tools
Do I need an account?
The browser utilities do not require an account or a subscription. Load the appropriate page from the tool directory and use the documented input controls. Separate linked products can have their own terms.
Are my files uploaded?
Inputs and results are processed locally in your browser. Loading the page and its assets still requires network requests to the host. You can inspect the Network panel as explained in the privacy verification guide.
Can I use the tools offline?
Do not assume that every page is available offline. Pages, scripts, fonts and other assets must be loaded; some workspaces may have their own cache behaviour. Test the exact task and keep a local copy of important output.
Where does saved work go?
Preferences, favourites and some workspace documents can be retained in browser storage. They are specific to the browser profile, not a cloud account. Export backups before clearing site data or changing devices.
Why can PDF compression make a file larger?
Rewriting a PDF does not guarantee smaller bytes. An already efficient file, embedded fonts or its image encoding can limit savings. Measure the downloaded result and compare quality; see the PDF compression guide.
Can a scan become searchable text?
The image-to-PDF workflow creates image-based pages. PDF to Text extracts existing text and does not supply OCR for handwriting or scanned pixels. Use an appropriate OCR process separately when searchable text is required.
Do word counts or grades match my institution?
Not automatically. Counting conventions, included sections, credits, weights and grade scales must match the receiving organisation. These tools calculate from your supplied data and do not certify an institutional result.
Does JWT decoding verify a token?
No. Reading a header and payload is different from verifying a cryptographic signature and checking claims against a trusted issuer. Never share live credentials to test a decoder.
Why can a browser task fail?
Unsupported formats, denied permissions, damaged files, size guardrails or insufficient device memory may prevent an operation. Keep originals, read the message and try a smaller supported sample. A successful download still needs inspection.
How can I suggest a correction?
Use the contact page with synthetic input, the relevant tool URL, browser details and expected behaviour. No reply deadline or support outcome is guaranteed.
