Add text, titles and captions with their own timing
Text in OpusDesk Hub Video Studio is a layer with its own start and end time, its own position, and its own typography. That makes it usable for a title card, a lower third, or a caption that follows the narration.
Open the editor The editor needs a desktop Chrome or Edge browser.
How it works in the editor
Add a text layer
Create a text effect from the text panel. It appears on the timeline like any other clip.
Type the words
Edit the text in the properties panel. Latin, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese are all rendered from the same font stack.
Style it
Set the font, size, weight, colour, alignment, line height and letter spacing. An outline or background keeps text readable over busy footage.
Place and time it
Drag the layer on the canvas to position it, drag its edges on the timeline to set when it appears and disappears.
Export
The exported MP4 renders the text with the same font, position and timing you previewed.
Limits worth knowing
- Choose a font that actually contains your characters. Device fonts are only available if the browser exposes them and you grant permission.
- Very small text is hard to read after H.264 compression. Keep captions large enough to survive encoding.
Questions
Can I add several text layers?
Yes. Each text layer has independent content, styling and timing, so a title and a caption can coexist.
Does it support Chinese characters?
Yes. Chinese text renders as long as the selected font covers those glyphs; the bundled Noto Emoji and Poppins faces cover Latin and emoji, and local device fonts cover CJK when the browser allows access.
Can text follow the video for the whole duration?
Yes. Stretch the text layer's edges so it spans the range you want it visible.
