Video Studio
Add a transition between two clips and set its length
A transition blends the end of one clip into the start of the next. OpusDesk Hub Video Studio uses GPU shader transitions, so the preview stays responsive and the export matches it.
Open the editor The editor needs a desktop Chrome or Edge browser.
How it works in the editor
Place two clips
Put two clips next to each other on the same video track. A transition needs a neighbour on both sides.
Drop the transition
Drag a transition between the two clips. The timeline shows where it sits.
Choose the effect
Pick from the transition panel. The list is long; start with the common ones and check the rest as you need them.
Set the length
Drag the transition's duration. A transition cannot be longer than the shorter of the two clips.
Export
Play across the join to check the blend, then export. The transition is rendered into the MP4.
Limits worth knowing
- A transition needs two adjacent clips on the same track; it cannot span a gap.
- Transitions render every frame of the overlap, so a long transition on a long timeline adds real export time.
Questions
Can I use a transition between an image and a video?
Yes, as long as both are on the same track and are adjacent.
What happens if the transition is longer than a clip?
The duration is clamped so it cannot exceed the shorter clip; a blend with nothing to blend into would not render.
Do I need a transition at all?
No. A hard cut between clips is the default and costs nothing to export.
